Crazy Mary
A thought of Bob Dylans song
John Wesley Harding
"As I went out one morning
To breathe the air around Tom Paines,"
This guy (Lets call him Bill) gets up to go for a nice walk and too contemplate all of Thomas Paine's wonderful words that have changed his life. The air around Tom Paine is the Creation itself. All of Tom Paine's words about God,and the only true way of understanding,"Deism"(God).
"I spied the fairest damsel
That ever did walk in chains."
Bill, while on his walk thinking about this great man Tom Paine who again has changed his life meets a pretty young single girl (lets call her Mary) that Bill can clearly see is trapped in a most heavy fog of faith. Christian no doubt, maybe a Jew,or Muslim? I'll go with a Christian girl.
"I offerd her my hand,"
Bill thinking how absolutely beautiful this Christian girl is wants to offer her the truth about God.
He wants to tell her that the path of Deism is the only real truth that there is. Bill has two reasons for telling her the truth.
1. It's important that the world gets it right because life's too short to live it in a fog of faith. And Deism really can save our race, our planet.
2. Mary's hot, single, and in a fog of faith, but would still be a great catch Bill is thinking. However Bill knows no matter how hot this girl is he could never be with her for long when he knows that she carries all these heavy chains.
"She took me by the arm."
Bill wants to give her his hand of knowledge,of truth, but Mary wants to impose her views, her faith by taking Bill by the arm.
Bill offers a thought by giving Mary his hand, but Mary takes Bill's arm offering him the heavy faith of our ancestors. Salvation Mary says can only be attained through Jesus Christ, but Bill knows that the true salvation is the Creation itself. Mary preaches faith to Bill, while Bill tries teaching truth to Mary.
"I knew that very instant,
She meant to do me harm."
Mary likes Bill too, however she realizes that if Bill doesn't expect Jesus as his lord and savior then he will go to hell. She takes Bill's arm for two reasons also.
1. It's important that she saves his soul from endless turmoil. Mary's word of God tells her that she "MUST" save all that she can,and its important to spread her true word that's found in a book.
2. Mary's thinking Bill's hot too,and would just love for something more. To have a guy like Bill reassure her own faith by accepting it would be a great thing. Another covert would be one more validation for crazy Mary this is always a good thing.
"Depart from me this moment
I told her with my voice."
Bill sees that Mary is crazy for her faith, and very imposing, and Bill's not going to give up his reality for this provable false faith that clouds her mind from reality.
He wants her gone.
He knows how dangerous this line of thinking is when believed as a literal truth.
He's sorry for even offering her a hand,"or his thoughts".
"Said she, but I don't wish to,"
Again Bill realizes that Mary is very blind faith crazy.
Mary feels that Bill is going to hell for all the stuff that he speaks about pertaining to God. So in one sense she wants to pose her views, but in the other she really wants to hear more of what Bill has to say.
"Said I, but you have no choice."
Bill knows the truth because once you know it there's not a faith in the world that can shake it. He also has talked to enough Christians of Mary's type to know that he's only wasting his time. Mary's view on God means nothing to Bill, and nothing she says will change his mind. She must let go!
"I beg you, sir, she pleaded
From the corners of her mouth,
I will secretly accept you
And together well fly south."
Crazy Mary's lying now from the corner of her mouth, and will say,and do anything to change Bill's mind. Mary sounds so sincere that Bill is confused for just a moment because if she believes this faith this sincerely maybe it could all be true. Mary likes him,but only if he excepts her faith. Bill thinks that she's so hot maybe her faith isn't important. Then he wakes up from his line of thinking that just flashed through his mind.
"Just then Tom Paine, himself,
Came running from across the field,
Shouting at this lovely girl
And commanding her to yield."
After waking up from the trance of Mary's beauty Bill's knowledge of the truth, and all that Tom Paine taught him came out loud, and clear on this girl Mary . Bill puts crazy Mary in her place, and Bill gives her something to really think about. He's firm, and deliberate with her to make sure that she realizes that his reality can't be wavered.
"And as she was letting go her grip"
Mary realizes that Bill's convictions are much stronger then hers. Mary will think about what Bill has said possibly. Maybe Bill's words will change her life, and set her on a path of truth? Bill has left two important thoughts in crazy Mary's mind that just may set her free from the fog of faith that clouds her mind from the realties of Deism (God).
1. Deism
"The true word of God is the Creation that we behold."
2. Thomas Paine
An example of a man who lived a life of truth that Mary just may study?
"Up Tom Paine did run,
Im sorry, sir, he said to me,
Im sorry for what shes done"
All that Bill has read of Thomas Paine came out on crazy Mary. Bill put Mary in her place because her faith couldn't compare to the reality of Deism. Bill thinks of how sorry Thomas Paine would feel if he knew that there were still crazy Mary's in the world.
Think about Deism as your reality:)?
